SUPPORT FAQ
For player specific questions, please use the menu above to locate your player and view the "support" section of that player.
Identifying your Visual Land Portable Media Player
- The following is to explain how Visual Land players are classified.
- General model names for example would be: VL-807 or VL-707 these numbers represent the model types. The "0" in VL-807 or VL-707 stands for the memory size of your player:
1 represents a 128MB memory player.
2 represents a 256MB memory player.
3 represents a 512MB memory player.
4 represents a 1GB memory player.
5 represents a 2GB memory player.
6 represents a 4GB memory player.
7 represents a 8GB memory player.
8 represents a 16GB memory player.
9 represents a 32GB memory player.
So for example, when ordering a 4GB VL-807, you'll receive a VL-867. A 1GB VL-707 would be a VL-747 player and so forth. This holds true for ALL Visual Land players.
Charging Your Player
- Connect your player to your computer or Wall Charger with the included USB cable/connector.
- Put your player's On/Off switch in the "ON" position. The player will begin charging.
- Even though the player screen may turn dark, your player is still charging as long as it is connected to your computer or Wall Charger and
in the "ON" position.
*The player MUST be in the "ON" position in order for the player to hold the charge.
Putting Files on Your Player
- Plug in your official Visual Land player to your PC with the included USB cable/connector.
- Locate your player on the PC by opening 'My Computer', it should show up as an extra drive. Open the player drive.
- Locate the directory where the files you want on the player are located on your PC, and open that folder.
- Click and hold on the desired file to transfer, and then "Drag" it over to the player's external drive folder, and unclick to 'drop' the file onto the player.
- Your Visual Land Players does not support synching with Windows Media Player, iTunes, MusicMatch, or any other programs. Simply use the process above to put files on your player.
- Certain models support subfolders. To create subfolders, go to your player's main directory, "Right Click" select "New" and then "Folder" Name the folder as you desire and move your songs into there.
- NOTE: Not all Visual Land Players support subfolders. If you create subfolders and are unable to access them with your player, chances are the player does NOT support subfolders and you can only create folders 1 level deep.
File Format and Other Playback Errors
- First make sure that the type of file you are trying to use is one that can be recognized by your Visual Land player.
- If the songs you are trying to put on your player are downloaded from a pay service such as iTunes, Napster, or Walmart.com they may have copyright encoding on them. Our players cannot play songs with this encoding. To circumvent the problem, burn your songs onto a CD, rip them back onto your computer, and then copy them onto your player.
- Make sure the file is able to play correctly on your computer.
The Computer Doesn't Recognize my Player
- Disconnect the player and then reconnect it.
- Restart your computer.
- Make sure the USB cable is plugged in all the way to both the player and the computer.
- Try using a different computer to make sure that the fault is not with your USB ports.
- If you have another USB cable that is the same size, try using that. If not, write an email to Visual Land Customer Support that states the problem and requests a new USB cable.
- If you are using any edition of Windows besides XP you may need to download and install the drivers located on your CD and on this FAQ.
FM Radio Issues
- The earphones act as the FM radio antenna. If you are getting poor reception, try moving the earphones and player into different positions.
- Other electronic devices may interfere with the signals your player receives. Try to use the radio function away from other powered on electronic devices.
- Try tuning up and down radio stations near the target station to see if one of the close frequencies comes in better than another.
To format your player:
- See if your player is working. If not, make sure your player is on and plug it into your computer's USB port.
- Your MP3 player should show up as a "Removable Disk drive" under "My Computer".
- Right click on that removable disk drive and select "Format"
- Format in FAT32 mode and click "Start" to format the player through your computer.
